Healthier Employees. Safer Workplaces. Stronger Organizations

Progressive Rehabilitation Associates partners with employers to prevent musculoskeletal injuries, address employee discomfort early, improve the physical fit between employees and their work, and support safe, productive returns to work.

Our workplace health professionals bring rehabilitation expertise directly into the work environment. We evaluate how work is actually performed, identify physical risk factors, and develop practical solutions that account for the employee, the job, the equipment, and the demands of the organization.

Whether you need assistance with a single workstation, an employee experiencing discomfort, a physically demanding position, or a comprehensive injury-prevention program, PRA can develop a solution around your workforce and operational needs.

Onsite Early Intervention and Injury Triage

Many work-related musculoskeletal problems develop gradually. An employee may first notice fatigue, stiffness, soreness, or difficulty completing a particular task. Without early attention, those symptoms can progress, affect performance, contribute to lost work time, or become a more significant injury.

PRA helps employers respond earlier.

Our workplace health services are designed to identify risk, address concerns before they escalate, and help employees work safely and effectively. We combine clinical knowledge with direct observation of the work environment to provide recommendations that are practical, measurable, and specific to the job.

Our programs can help employers:

  • Identify ergonomic and musculoskeletal risk factors
  • Respond promptly to employee discomfort
  • Improve employee body mechanics and work practices
  • Reduce unnecessary physical strain
  • Establish consistent physical expectations for jobs
  • Support safe hiring and placement decisions
  • Improve communication among employees, supervisors, safety leaders, and healthcare providers
  • Facilitate safe and productive return-to-work planning
  • Develop a stronger culture of prevention

As a physical therapy-based organization, PRA helps connect onsite injury triage with outpatient treatment when formal care is needed. By communicating job demands, functional requirements, and ergonomic considerations directly to the treating therapist, we help support more targeted care, better outcomes, sustained recovery, and a safer return-to-work

Ergonomic Consulting

PRA's ergonomic consulting services help employers identify musculoskeletal and ergonomic risk factors, evaluate physical job demands, and implement practical solutions that support both employee wellbeing and operational goals. We assess how work is actually performed, including posture, force, repetition, duration, movement patterns, material handling, equipment use, and opportunities for recovery.

In addition to ergonomic assessments, PRA provides job demands analysis, body mechanics training, leadership education, and return-to-work support to help employers improve safety, support job fit, and reduce injury risk.

Services may include:

  • Office and computer workstation evaluations
  • Industrial and manufacturing task assessments
  • Healthcare and patient-handling assessments
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling analysis
  • Tool and equipment review
  • Workstation setup and positioning
  • Job rotation and workflow recommendations
  • Job demands and physical requirements analysis
  • Body mechanics and safe work practice training
  • Ergonomics education for supervisors, managers, and safety leaders
  • Written findings and prioritized recommendations
  • Follow-up after changes are implemented
  • Return-to-work and transitional duty support

Post-Offer Functional Screens

Post-Offer Functional Screens are job-specific functional assessments completed after a conditional offer of employment has been made. These screens are designed to compare an individual's physical abilities to the essential physical demands of the job, helping employers determine whether the candidate can safely perform required tasks.

At PRA, these screens are built around the actual demands of the position and may include activities such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, positional tolerance, and other job-related movements. The goal is to provide objective, consistent information that supports hiring decisions, improves job match, and helps guide injury prevention, safer placement, and restriction or accommodation planning.
